Klimaire Package Terminal Air Conditioner (PTAC) and Heat Pump (PTHP) units are designed to provide year-round comfort in hotel, motel, office buildings, nursing homes, classrooms, apartments, dormitories, and hospitals. PTAC's are conveniently installed on an interior wall with the back of the unit vented to the exterior. No ducting is required. Klimaire's PTAC and PTHP's are built to the industry standard 42-inch width and fit standard 16-inch existing wall sleeves.
PTHP’s provide energy-efficient heating and cooling using reverse cycle technology. Cooling capacity is 12,000 BTU and heat pump heating capacity is 10,800 BTU. The included electric auxiliary 3.5 kW (12,000 BTU) heat strip is supplemental and only needs to be used when the outside temperature drops too low for the heat pump to provide energy-efficient heating. This is generally only a few days out of the year. For most of the heating season, the energy efficient heat pump provides enough heating using about 1/3 the electric power required by standard electric heating.
This Klimaire 12,000 BTU package Terminal Heat Pump PTHP is a complete system including the electric heat strip. Optional recommended wall sleeve and sleeve grill are available.

Every Klimaire PTAC unit is built with an LED lit easy push button control panel for the selection of heating or cooling mode, fan-only mode, and precise temperature adjustment. Fresh air intake design and the washable polypropylene air filter ensure indoor air quality. When the weather is mild, a large ventilation door circulates fresh air into the home, and in the event of power loss the Auto Restart feature remembers the latest settings so you can have peace-of-mind. The large diameter indoor tangential fan wheel and dual motor configuration contribute to low operational noise and uniform airflow.

I was impressed with the shipping. Shipped strapped down tight to its own wood pallet which keeps the AC upright. This Seller cares about how the product arrives. This PTAC does not come with the wall sleeve which has to be ordered separately if you don't already have a wall sleeve installed which I did. This PTAC installed easily into an existing GE manufactured wall sleeve (that housed a Sanyo PTAC for 24 years that took full retirement). It's too heavy for one to slide into the wall sleeve. You need 2 people for that. Works like a charm. Piece of cake.

Easy to install, works great - highly recommend this. Used it in our summer home, A/C cools off the whole place. Haven't tried the heater yet, just test it to make sure it works and threw off a lot of heat. Can't go wrong getting this unit.

After installing, the unit cooled but not well and got an error code when trying to heat. No help from customer service. Finally, after trial and error, determined that the valves on precharged tubing were not fully opened due to not having them tightened enough. Once I tightened them more, the unit began cooling much better and the heat worked. Now, I'm pleased with the unit.
