Check list for optimal location of indoor fan coil

#1. Choose a mounting wall that is strong and solid enough to prevent vibration.

#2. Exterior walls are usually best because you must run a refrigeration line to the outdoor unit as well as a condensate line in accordance with building codes.

#3. Select a location out of direct sunlight or limit sun exposure as much as possible.

#4. Ensure the location has good air circulation.

#5. Remove obstacles that may block air flow.

#6. Avoid air streams such as a doorways or close proximity to heat sources like kitchens.

#7. Make sure there is space in front of the unit for service access.

#8. Consider the fan coil unit’s operational noise and install it where the noise won’t be a disturbance.

Tips on choosing best location for outdoor unit

#1. Anchor the outdoor unit horizontally on a concrete slab or rigid mount above ground level.

#2. Foundation must be level and should not adjoin the building to prevent sound and vibration transmission from unit to building.

#3. If installing beneath a protective awning, make sure that heat radiation from the condenser is not obstructed.

#4. Ensure that animals or plants will not be affected by the unit’s discharge of hot air.

#5. Discharged air should not be blocked by obstacles.

#6. Shield unit fan from strong wind; prevent wind entry by setting unit along a wall or using a dust or buffer plate.

#7. Consider unit’s operational noise and choose a location that will not intrude on neighbors or building occupants.

#8. Discharged air should not blow toward windows less than 25 feet/7.5 meters away.
